Cherry Crumbles Recipe 🍒

Since many of my friends been asking the recipe for the dessert I posted two days ago on Instagram (made from my abundant cherry supplies, thanks for the Christmas feast leftover and in season (lower) cherry price 😝), here’s the recipe for the Cherry Crumbles I got from Taste.com, and this makes it the first time ever I post a recipe on this blog! 😆

Ingredients:2kg cherries, pitted

2 tablespoons caster sugar

50g butter, chopped

1/2 cup (75g) plain flour

1/2 cup (50g) rolled oats

1/4 cup (55g) brown sugar

ice cream or custard, to serve

Method:Step 1

Preheat oven to 180°C. Place the cherries in a saucepan with 2 tablespoons water. Cook over a low heat for 6-8 minutes. Stir in the caster sugar and cook a further 5 minutes or until soft.

Step 2

In a bowl, use your fingertips to rub the butter into the flour until fine crumbs form. Stir in the oats and brown sugar.

Step 3

Spoon the cherries into a 4 cup (1 litre) ovenproof dish. Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden. Cool slightly and serve with ice cream or custard.

Easy peasy!

As a mum of two I wouldn’t choose complicated recipe anyway 😝

Happy baking!
